Clues sought into cause of man’s death

Edmonton police are releasing images of a man who was found dead in September 2020 in an effort to determine his last known whereabouts.

The remains of Scott Dale Johnson, 39, were discovered near 127 Avenue and 71 Street on Sept. 24, 2020. An autopsy was conducted by a medical examiner, but it could not determine the cause and manner of death.

In a Tuesday news release, police said investigators are now looking into the events leading up to the man’s death to ensure he did not die as a result of a criminal act, and are asking if anyone has information regarding the man, between August and the day he died.

Police released images of Johnson along with photos of an electric bicycle he frequently rode around the city.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 780423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
