Stones play first show without Watts

The Rolling Stones performed their first gig since the death of drummer Charlie Watts on Monday night.

Mick Jagger and his bandmates headlined a private tented concert for billionaire Robert Kraft at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts.

The show served as a warm-up for the group’s 13date U.S. tour, which begins in Missouri this weekend.

The rockers served up a hits-laced show, featuring Let’s Spend The Night Together, Tumbling Dice, Under My Thumb, Start Me Up, and Gimme Shelter, and played their 2020 hit Living in a Ghost Town live for the first time. It was the Stones’ first gig without Watts in almost 60 years.

Watts fell ill as the band was preparing to travel to the U.S. to rehearse for the tour and died in August at age 80.
