Mandate vaccines in retail sector

Re: “I am mad as hell at the unvaxxed” (Lise Ravary, Sept. 21)

Lise Ravary has every reason the be “mad as hell” at the unvaxxed. I am, too, and I add: “Enough already!”

My wife, family and friends have done everything we can possibly do to avoid catching COVID-19. We have our vaccine passports and continue to follow all the public health guidelines.

Why is our overburdened health-care system forced to deny care to other folks with serious heath issues? Why are we, the vaxxed, still paying the price for those who choose to put our health and that of our young grandchildren at risk?

Why do I have to prove I have been vaccinated twice in order to enter a restaurant while everyone working there need not be vaccinated even once?

They, along with everyone else serving the public, need to start doing what is right.

As for their “right” to choose, it stops when it impedes my right to life.

Premier François Legault and Health Minister Christian Dubé need to put on their big-boy pants and mandate that anyone who works in the retail industry, along with anyone who works in health care and education, needs to be vaccinated or stay home.
