PANTHERS PLAYER CUT AFTER HIT TO TEAMMATE’S HEAD
A Carolina Panthers player was waived by the team after what coach Matt Rhule said was a “completely unacceptable” hit to a teammate’s head.
Wide receiver Keith Kirkwood was leaping as he attempted to catch a P.J. Walker
pass when safety J.T. Ibe levelled him. Kirkwood lay on the turf for about 10 minutes before being carted off and leaving training camp in an ambulance. Rhule told reporters that Kirkwood has movement in his extremities and was not in pain.
