Maybe it's time to buy different train

Re: More LRT problems as train derails, Sept. 20.

The actual trains may be the least expensive component of the light-rail system. Consider the cost of digging the tunnels, widening the roadways to accommodate the trains, putting down the tracks, putting up the wires and electrical connection, putting in the stations.

There have been door problems, wheel problems, axle problems with the trains. Somewhere on the market, there may be far more reliable and trustworthy trains to replace the current ones at much less long-term cost, and much more reliability. Michael Hider, Rockland
