Jepsen celebrates earworm Call Me Maybe

Singer Carly Rae

Jepsen has marked the

10th anniversary of her breakthrough song, Call Me Maybe, by recreating the cover art with a photo of herself as an old woman.

The Canadian singer paid homage to the song that launched her career by sharing photos of her “future, present and past” selves.

Jepsen recreated the original album pose as she looks now, with cropped platinum blonde hair, and then gave fans a glance of what she might look like as a grandmother, complete with grey hair, glasses, and a knitted shawl.

“It's been 10 years since Call Me Maybe and this is how that makes me feel,” she joked on Instagram. To her fans she wrote: “You have opened my world and my heart with this adventure of a song and I could not be more grateful to you all ... Call Me Maybe was like a lightning bolt to my little life.”

The chart-topping song was first released in September, 2011 as a single off her Curiosity EP, and spent 50 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 music charts in the U.S.

Justin Bieber called it “possibly the catchiest song I've ever heard lol,” in a 2012 tweet.
