NEIL YOUNG SLAMS SPOTIFY’S ‘FAKE INFORMATION’

Neil Young wants his music removed from Spotify because he says it’s spreading COVID-19 vaccine misinformation. Young, pictured, made the request via an online letter to his record company, which he has since deleted, and cited comedian Joe Rogan’s podcast The Joe Rogan Experience as an example. “I am doing this because Spotify is spreading fake information about vaccines — potentially causing death to those who believe the disinformation being spread by them,” he wrote. “Please act on this immediately today and keep me informed of the time schedule.” Rogan has come under fire many times for comments he’s made about coronavirus on his podcast, which reaches 11 million listeners. This isn’t the first time Young wanted to take his songs off the streaming service. In 2015, he removed most of his back catalogue from Spotify — and its competitor Apple Music — citing concerns over sound quality.
